Tarn Katakuchi Matcha Bowl
This stoneware katakuchi bowl is made from black clay, layered with porcelain slip and finished with a light blue glaze inside — a combination inspired by the still, icy waters of a winter tarn. Hand-thrown with an asymmetrical spout and fired at 1230ºC, it balances form and function.
The spout allows for a clean, controlled pour, making it ideal for preparing and serving matcha.
Handcrafted in Harrogate, each piece reflects a blend of my Japanese heritage and the cool, reflective beauty of northern landscapes.
Every bowl is unique, with variations in glaze and form that make each one of a kind.
Features:
• Approximate size: D 13cm × H 7cm
• Handmade in the UK
• Food-safe glazes
• Hand wash recommended for longevity
• Avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent cracking
