This round ceramic moon jar in Stonewash - created by layering porcelain slip over grey stoneware clay and brushing the surface by hand using the traditional Japanese Hakeme technique. It is hand-thrown, hand-finished, and fired at 1230ºC.
Inspired by the rugged landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, it is handcrafted in Harrogate. The soft grey tones and subtle brushmarks reflect a connection between my Japanese heritage and a quiet, understated approach to form and surface.
