Nocturne Matcha Bowl

£38.00

The Nocturne Matcha Bowl features Hakeme — a traditional Japanese white slip technique, brushed with a hake brush in sweeping strokes. Over this, deep blue glaze is splashed in layers, creating fluid movement and tonal depth across the surface.

Fired at 1230ºC, the result is a quiet interplay of contrast — white slip, blue glaze, and black clay echoing shadow, water, and sky.

Its wide, open form is made for whisking and drinking matcha — steady in the hand, slow in rhythm.

Its form draws from the rugged contours of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, reflecting a blend of my Japanese heritage and the textures of northern landscapes.

Each bowl is one of a kind — a vessel shaped by hand, rhythm, and gesture.
