Matte White Moon Jar
A ‘Moon jar’ round ceramic vase in matte white glaze on toasted stoneware clay. It was hand thrown and fired at 1250ºc.
Taking inspiration from the rough and wild landscape in the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, it was handcrafted locally in Harrogate. Each piece intertwines my Japanese heritage and countryside surroundings to create patterns and glazes which mimic organic textures.
The calming, neutral tone of the glaze allows the Moon Jar to seamlessly integrate into any aesthetic, be it modern, minimalist, or eclectic.
The handmade nature of this ceramic moon jar ensures that no two pieces are identical.
