Large Matte White Moon Jar
A large Moon Jar in stoneware clay with a soft matte white glaze. Formed by joining two large hand-thrown bowls into a single rounded shape, it is fired at 1250ºC. Approximate size: H30cm × D30cm.
Its organic form draws from the rugged landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. Influences from my Japanese heritage and historic East Asian moon jar tradition, alongside the surrounding countryside, appear through the surface, texture, and subtle irregularities of the piece.
Made by hand in Harrogate, each Moon Jar carries slight variations in shape, glaze, and detail as part of the making process.
• Approx size: H 30cm D 30cm
• Colour: White
• Handmade in the UK
