This stoneware katakuchi matcha bowl features Hakeme, a traditional Japanese white slip decoration applied with a hake brush on black clay. It was hand-thrown, hand-brushed, and fired at 1230ºC.
The spout design allows for a clean, controlled pour, making it especially suited for preparing and serving matcha.
Inspired by the rugged landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, it was handcrafted in Harrogate. Each piece reflects a blend of my Japanese heritage and the natural textures of the countryside.
Each piece is unique, with gentle variations that make every bowl one of a kind.
