Black Lidded Jar
This small round lidded jar is made from black stoneware with an unglazed exterior that highlights the natural texture of the clay. The interior is fully glazed for functional use and easy cleaning.
Inspired by the form of cha-ire (茶入) — traditional Japanese tea jars used for storing matcha — this piece is designed with tea in mind, but its use is versatile. It can also serve as a container for spices, salt, or small keepsakes.
Handcrafted in Harrogate, the jar reflects a connection between my Japanese heritage and the rugged textures of the Yorkshire Dales.
