The Abstract Hakeme Tall Cup features Hakeme — a traditional Japanese white slip technique applied with a hake brush — on black stoneware clay. Each cup is hand-thrown, hand-brushed, and fired at 1230ºC.
The form draws from the rugged landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, blending my Japanese heritage with the natural textures of the countryside. Subtle curves and expressive brushwork create a quiet sense of movement across the surface.
Each piece is handmade, with variations in pattern and form that make every cup one of a kind.
